It may be a down year for the University of Minnesota hockey team, but that did not stop Madelyn and I from going to the game last weekend. Especially not - when the tickets are free, from General Mills.
We stepped into the private box, and Madelyn said, "I could get used to this!"
They ended up winning 3-1 against Harvard.
This was our first trip ever to the new Mariucci Arena. New to me, anyway. It opened in 1993. Before that, they played on the other side of Williams Arena. When you come in, you walk up the initial staircase and you see all these pictures of teams in the past. At the top of the stairs you turn around, and you see the whole arena - it's very impressive.
