November Family Update

1) On a scale of 1 to 10, how was your NOVEMBER? 8
2) What did you do last weekend OR what are your plans for this weekend? Madelyn and I saw "Blind Side".  A bunch of us pitched in $ to rent out our community center gym for a few days.  On Sunday night, James and I played basketball together.

3) How is the extended family?

4) How is job? Good.  This Tuesday, I will be giving a presentation on the database compression I worked out. It's in front of all the database wonks, so hopefully, I can dazzle them!
5) How is health?  OK.  I'm sick of sinus infections.  I took Augmentin for 10 days last month to get rid of the one I had.  After playing basketball on Sunday, I continued sneezing for nearly a day.  Even today, my nose is "ticklish". Maybe I should see an ENT specialist...
6) Did you go anywhere cool? The Science Museum.  I was a chaperone with James' class.  The movie was "Titanica".  It's old - made in 1992 or so.  It moved kind of slow.  I suppose it was more interesting at the time it came out, because it was fresh after seeing firsthand the wreckage of the Titanic.  The boys were most interested in the mummy section in the museum.  They spent about 10 minutes at the weaving station!

7) What made you frustrated?  I helped out last week at James' basketball practice.  The regular coach was not there.  So I was assisting the assistant.  The boys were more "squirrely" than usual, and they didn't really listen to us. One boy complained of getting hurt.  No wonder... he was goofing around and someone poked him!
8) What made you happy?
9) Anything surprising? Tiger Woods.  What a bummer, man.  It's nice to look up to people.  I hate it when reputations get tarnished.
10) Movies/TV shows you watched? Vikings football, "Blind Side", Dancing with the Stars finale, the Michael Jackson movie, and "The Santa Claus".
11) Currently reading? The Colonists by Jack Cavanaugh.  It's about how a family deals with their faith in God during the colonial times.  I've been reading about the Revolutionary War, so I thought it would be fun to take a break and read some historical fiction from the time period.  There's a sequel to this book called The Colonists which I will be reading next along with a non-fiction book, Founding Brothers by Joseph Ellis.
12) Something you made: Pancakes, pretty boring.
13) Do anything cool? Played Ultimate at a Roseville city park.  We were supposed to have lights.  I was a little surprised to drive up to a completely dark field.  So were the others.  We ended up driving our cars to the edge of the field and turning our headlights on!
14) Anything bad happen?

15) Any cool people you've met/reconnected with?
16) Any big purchases?  We bought the matching love seat to our couch plus a chair.  Hmmm... that vacation to Arizona next spring seems unlikely!
17) Something that inspired you.... The "Blind Side".  "Big Mike" was given an incredible opportunity, and he made the most of it when so many others would have wasted it.
18) What are you looking forward to in the month of DECEMBER? Easy!  The Christmas cookie bake!
19) Not looking forward to? Being caught driving to or from work when the first big snowstorm hits.
20) Complete the phrase: "In NOVEMBER, I.....watched James' basketball team go undefeated 5-0. ".
