The Staples are Out!

Sheri went to the orthopedic today and got her staples out. She said that it didn't hurt much; that it kind of felt like getting poked. Now there are lots of tiny little holes from where the staples were. Her skin has healed over good where the staples were.

She cannot extend her arm out much. The doctor said some of that had to do with the swelling she still has. The swelling blocks the ability to move. There isn't a lot of swelling, but there is a little bit.

The bone is healing. She got another x-ray today, and the doctor compared it to the one from last week. You can see a crack in the old x-ray. In the new x-ray it barely shows.

So, the next appointment is in a month. Until then, she will go to therapy twice a week. One thing they do in therapy is measure how much more she is able to extend her arm. I don't think she has changed too much in the last few days. The doctor said that she needs to extend it until it hurts a little and then try to extend it just a little bit more for a few seconds.

We keep praying for Sheri to stay motivated with moving her fingers, hand, and arm around. And also so that no one else in the family gets sick or hurt!
